The clinical base of the department is located in the specialised Republican Scientific and Practical Medical Centre of Traumatology and Orthopaedics. Now the department has two classrooms, a simulation room for practical training of cadets, as well as a lecture hall. The auditoriums and the lecture hall are equipped with modern training facilities, and all necessary conditions have been created for the students.

RSSPMCTO was first founded in 1932 as a scientific and practical institution specialising in injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal apparatus in Central Asia under the name of Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics. At present, RSSPMCTO of the MH RUz functions as a leading scientific and practical institution in the field of traumatology and orthopaedics and consists of two buildings with 270 beds, 12 operating blocks and 13 clinical departments.

Also in the building of the clinical base there is a branch of the Republican Medical Library under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is fully used by the staff of the department, clinical residents and cadets of the cycle.

The department members provide training and treatment of patients in the clinical departments of the centre. Each member of the department is assigned to different departments of the clinic and in the course of work regularly conducts outpatient and inpatient treatment in these departments. Also under the direction of the head of the department in the departments for cycle cadets and clinical residents are regularly conducted examinations of patients, during examinations master classes and discussions of clinical cases are held and as a result, the classes are conducted in an interactive mode.

RSSPMCTO, which is the clinical base of the Department, specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and their complications in adults and children, as well as various congenital and acquired diseases. Currently, this centre is a leading clinic in the field of minimally invasive reconstruction of various deformities of the musculoskeletal apparatus in children, treatment of large joint diseases in adults by various modern methods: arthroscopy, endoprosthetics and endoscopic treatment of spinal diseases. The Centre and the Department under the leadership of Murojon Ergashevich Irismetov regularly achieve various successes.
