In 2016, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Complex treatment of contractures of the knee joint.”
Scientific self-management and additional professional improvements:Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Uzbekistan, second degree. Chairman of the Scientific Council for awarding the academic degree (30 December 2019 Tib62.01) at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Editor-in-chief of the scientific journal "Traumatology and Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation", chief specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the specialty "Traumatology and Orthopaedics", chairman of the specialty certification commission for assigning a medical category. Since 2020 he has been the Director of the Republican Specialised Scientific and Practical Medical Centre of Traumatology and Orthopaedics of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan
Professional experience:He is a leading specialist with 30 years of experience in diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases of large joints. He is also one of the best specialists in the republic in the treatment of large joints by arthroscopy. He performs therapeutic work in the departments of "Arthroscopy" and "Sports Trauma" of RNPMCTO.
He has 10 years of teaching experience, since 2020 he has been the head of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopaedics of the RNPKMR. Under his supervision 10 candidate and 1 doctoral theses were defended, and in 2023 he was awarded the academic title of professor.

Karimov Khotam Mahkamovich

Scientific education:In 1991, he defended his PhD dissertation on topic "Treatment of short legs and deformities in children with poliomyelitis by hardware and surgical methods"
Scientific self-management and additional professional improvements:He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Surgery of the Center for the development of professional qualification of medical workers (CDPQMW). He is also a member of the scientific seminar of the CDPQMW degree awarding council. He is responsible for teaching and methodological work in the department
Professional experience:In 1984-1987 he worked as Head of the Department of Paediatric Orthopaedics at the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics. In 1987, after passing the competition, he started working in the department of paediatric orthopaedics as a junior researcher. After defence of the candidate's thesis in 1991-1997 worked as an assistant of the department of traumatology and orthopaedics of the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors. Since 1997 he has been working as an associate professor of the department. He has more than 35 years of experience in the field of paediatric traumatology and orthopaedics and is considered an experienced specialist

Scientific education:In 2023 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on topic "Surgical treatment of congenital anomalies of development of tibia bones in children" at the Scientific Council of the Republican Specialised Scientific and Practical Medical Centre of Traumatology and Orthopaedics of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan
Scientific self-management and additional professional improvements:In 2020, he completed training in pedagogy at the Centre for Retraining and Professional Development of Pedagogical Staff of the Tashkent State Pedagogical University. Also in December 2023 successfully completed the training programme "English for Science", implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the World Bank project. He also regularly improves in the field of his speciality by participating in international conferences and forums

In 1992-1994 he worked as an orthopaedic surgeon at the Republican Centre of Children's Orthopaedics. In 1994 he started to work as a researcher in the department of children's orthopaedics of the Scientific Research Institute of Orthopaedics of Uzbekistan, and since 1996 he has been working as an assistant of the department of traumatology and orthopaedics of the Tashkent Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education.
