History of the Department:
The Faculty of Pediatrics of the CDPQMW was founded in 1978. In the year of foundation, 6 departments started functioning at the faculty. They were:
- Neonatology
- Nervous diseases of childhood
- Obstetrics and Gynecology 1
- Obstetrics and gynecology 2
- Childhood infectious diseases
- Childhood tuberculosis
Today the faculty consists of the following departments:
1. Pediatrics
2. Pediatrics and child nutrition.
3. Obstetrics, gynecology and perinatal medicine
4. Obstetrics and gynecology 2
5. Nervous diseases of childhood.
6. Neonatology
7. Anesthesiology and intensive care in pediatrics.
8. Narcology and adolescent psychopathology.
9. Development strategy of Uzbekistan. The course of civil society
10. The course of clinical pharmacology.
Over the years the faculty has employed highly qualified teachers, professors and scientists in their field. – Academician S. S. Shamsiev, Professor Shamurat Sharasulovich Shamansurov, Professor M. A. Mirzamukhamedov, Professor V.I. Krylov, Professor R.N. Akalaev, prof. D.F. Karimova, Prof. A.T. Sultanov, Prof. Pikulina, associate professor O.T. Majidova, associate professor M.S. Muslimova, associate professor Z.B. Rafikova and many other professors.
For many years, M.A. Zubrilina and K.A. Ivanova carried out the methodological work of the faculty, and K.A. Ivanova still is a methodologist and making her contribution to the work of the faculty.
Aim
To implement and ensure the implementation of the reforms of building a new Uzbekistan - the Strategy "Uzbekistan – 2030", the State programs "Healthy Generation", "Mother and Child", highly effective doctors of the Republic of Uzbekistan based on the achievements of modern science, medical science and existing proven data on improving skills, knowledge and skills of using technology, reducing maternal mortality and children to a minimum level in the future, ensuring the nurture of a healthy generation.

The purpose of educational programs: to join and participate in modern international initiatives of medical personnel working in the healthcare system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, improvement the competence of specialists and developing their clinical thinking, enrichment of scientific research with new technologies based on the requirements of the time and improvement professional competencies.
At various times, the Faculty was productively headed by remarkable people – scientists, professors, whose teachers were:
Mukhabbat Nonmatovna Nurmukhamedova (1978-1986), Fazlitdin Saifievich Shamsiev (1987-1995), Anvar Shayakhmetovich Shomukhamedov (1996-2003), Khadichakhon Tulkunovna Mukhamedova (2004 - 2019) and from 2019 to the present Shahlo Hibziddinovna Saidazizova.
