Direction of the Department of Pediatric Neurology Prof. Shamansurov: "Problems of strokes in children: pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, rehabilitation and treatment"

The main clinical and training bases are: Children's City Clinical Hospital #1, Republican Screening Center "Mother and Child," Children's Neuropsychiatric Hospital named after Kurbanov.

About 20 clinical residents are trained annually at the Department of Pediatric Neurology.

On cycles of primary specialization, doctors of other specialties trained in the field of pediatric neurology. Regular cycles organized on the subject "Clinical Physiology."

 Over the past 5 years have been trained 1637 cadets, 570 of them in neurophysiology, also were trained 106 clinical residents.

Trained specialists work in the republic, as well as in foreign countries. On the basis of the department, the Republican Association of Pediatric Neurologists was created, which provides practical and methodological support in the specialty "Pediatric Neurology" to practitioners.

The scientific potential of the department is high, it employs 1 professor, 3 doctors of sciences, 6 candidates of medical sciences. The staff of the department is constantly striving to improve their skills in the Republic and in foreign countries.

Teachers actively participate in scientific conferences held in our country and abroad, and also organize scientific conferences themselves. In particular, on October 6-7, 2023, with foreign cooperation, a scientific and practical conference was organized on topical issues of pediatric neurology.

Pediatric Neurology department collaborates with the Russian Academy of Postgraduate Education Department of Pediatric Neurology Professor Zykov V.P, with Professor N.N. Zavadenko- Head of the Department of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics named after Academician L.O. Badalyan Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov, with Professor Mukhin K.Yu.- scientific director of the Pediatric neurology and epilepsy center.
