News of the department

With the introduction of effective perinatal technologies and the development of a new direction – "Perinatal Medicine", fundamentally new clinical approaches and concepts in reproductive healthcare have appeared, in connection with which an initiative was put forward to rename the department. Since 2002, the name of the department has been "Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatal Medicine".

 

 

To conduct theoretical and practical exercises in the educational process, the following training bases are involved: Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health for Maternal and Child Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent branch of the RSSPMC for Maternal and Child Health, Tashkent city Maternity Complex No. 3, GMU GAOK "Uzbekiston Temir yillari". All conditions have been created for the training of qualified doctors.

 

 

 

The scientific direction of the department is GNTP-5 "New technologies for the protection of maternal and child health, taking into account the regional characteristics of Uzbekistan". The scientific activity of the department is perinatal medicine, gynecological endocrinology, reproductive medicine, modern technologies in effective antenatal/ perinatal care.

The Department has developed and patented fundamentally new training programs for 1296, 864, 720, 504 retraining programs for specialists in obstetrics and gynecology, reproductology and endoscopy. General and thematic programs have been developed for obstetricians and gynecologists, family doctors, endocrinologists for 288, 144, 72, 54, 36 and 18 credits.  There are 41 programs in total, which are regularly updated. The department has implemented distance learning on the MOODLE platform, for which 3 programs have been developed and approved.  A significant period of activity of the department, the impressive practical and scientific potential of the teaching staff allows to improve the qualifications of medical specialists (family doctors, obstetricians, gynecologists, reproductologists, endocrinologists, etc.).

 

 

 

 Having experience in teaching and research, the staff of the department in their daily work attaches special importance to the principles of evidence-based medicine, relying on evidence-based medicine tools such as specificity and sensitivity tests. Much attention is paid to the skills of evaluating existing information, cadets are trained not only in the skills of applying new technologies and methods, but also in the skills of objective, reliable assessment of available information, skills of analyzing innovations in medicine.

 

  Over the past 3 years, the department has trained more than 50 clinical residents, among them residents from India and Kazakhstan. 

 

 

Clinical residents actively participate in Youth scientific and practical conferences.

 

 

 

 

The academic teaching staff of the department regularly undergoes international internships, because the undeniable advantage in training modern specialists is international experience and all innovative findings are actively implemented in the practical and theoretical process.

Over the past 5 years, more than 3,500 thousand doctors of various specialties have been trained at the department. More than 700 doctors of the republic have improved their qualifications and received specialization.

The staff of the department organically combines practical and theoretical activities with scientific ones.

The staff of the department actively participates in the organization of all scientific and practical conferences.

 

 

 

The main areas of research are devoted to aspects of maternal and child health protection, optimization of management tactics for women with gynecological diseases. The results of the study are introduced into the educational process and practical activities of obstetricians and gynecologists of the republic, in publications of domestic and foreign periodicals, and are the basis for the protection of scientific degrees. 4 doctors of Sciences and 4 candidates of medical sciences defended their scientific research at the department..

 

The department cooperates with foreign research, educational, and medical organizations.

1. International Memorandum with the Scientific Center of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The objectives of cooperation are the exchange of experience of scientists and teachers, cooperation in the field of scientific research, conducting scientific practices, etc.

2. The international project “HPV Primary cervical Screening Pilot in the Republic of Uzbekistan" UNFPA. The objectives of the collaboration are to identify asymptomatic and early stages of precancerous lesions of the cervix, asymptomatic cervical cancer that can be treated with simple, effective and inexpensive outpatient procedures, which will prevent the occurrence of cervical cancer and lead to a decrease in mortality.

3. International project "Medical care for women affected by gender-based violence“ WHO, UNFPA. The objectives of the cooperation are Standard operational procedures for interagency response to gender–based violence. Further expansion of the implementation of the "National Mentors-Trainers of HEALTH CARE Providers". Development of normative documents – standards for correctional and preventive work of authorized employees of a medical institution with a person who has committed violence against women.  

4. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The objectives of the cooperation are "Protection of women and girls from oppression and violence" by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Cabinet of Ministers dated 04/01/2020"System for the protection of women from oppression and violence Resolution No. 3 on measures to improve and monitor.  Execution of letter No. 1/2-/23. dated August 8, 2023, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan to monitor the enforcement process. 

5. Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The objectives of the partnership are, on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women, Girls and Men" dated December 15, 2022 – No. 809, to conduct a gender audit in government agencies and organizations within the framework of public control.
