Department history

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 1 was organized as a course in 1937 on the basis of maternity hospital No. 3 in Tashkent.

 

 

The founder of the department or its first head is Ruben Nikitovich Kazarasyan, PhD, Associate Professor.

 

 

From 1952 to 1970, Natalia Trofimovna Rayevskaya, MD, headed the department.

  From 1970 to 1980, the department was headed by Associate Professor, PhD Vasil Fazilov.

 

 

From 1980 to 1983, the department was headed by Associate Professor, PhD Makhmudova Mukaddas Makhmudova.

 

 

From 1983 to 1987, the department was headed by Associate professor, Candidate of Medical Sciences Khodjibaeva Rosa Boltaevna.

 

 

From 1986 to 2023, the department was headed by Professor Munira Miryusupovna Asatova.

 

 

Under the leadership of M.M. Asadova, scientific research was conducted at the department in priority areas. The current research directions of the department are devoted to the treatment of miscarriage and ovarian insufficiency syndrome. 24 candidate's and 5 doctoral dissertations have been prepared and defended at the department.

Currently, 6 doctoral dissertations are being prepared.

 

In 2023 the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Feruza Akhrorovna Gafurova.
