The scientific activity of the department is the definition of emotional, personal and cognitive disorders in various forms of addictive behavior, clinical, psychological and social aspects of eating disorders in adolescents.
The following educational bases are involved in the educational process for practical training: the Republican SSPMCMCH, the Tashkent branch of the RSSPMCMCH, the Tashkent city Children's Neuropsychiatric Center.
The Department of Narcology was organized in 1998 by order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Order No. 300 of 06.06.1998) and Rector of TIPME (Order No. 26 of 06.06.1998). In 2000, it was renamed into the Department of Narcology and Adolescent Psychopathology.
The Department has developed new educational programs for 864, 504, 288, 144, 72 and 36 hours in narcology, 864, 504, 288 and 144 hours in child psychiatry and 720, 504, 288 and 144 hours in medical psychology for education, retraining and advanced training of specialists in these fields.
Almost 26 years of wide experience allows us to improve the skills of specialists of various profiles (narcologists, medical psychologists, child psychiatrists). Having considerable experience in teaching and scientific research, the staff of the department is well-oriented in the world of the latest medical information, selecting the most useful and necessary for domestic specialists. All innovative findings are actively introduced into the educational process and work practice.
Over the past 5 years, 1,487 doctors of the Republic of various specialties have been trained at the department.
The staff of the department organically combines practical and theoretical activities with scientific ones. The main areas of research are devoted to aspects of the definition of emotional, personal and cognitive disorders in various forms of addictive behavior, as well as aspects of eating disorders in adolescents. The results of the study are immediately reflected in the educational process and practical activities of narcologists of the republic, in publications of domestic and foreign periodicals, and are the basis for the protection of scientific degrees. 1 Doctor of Sciences and 5 candidates of medical sciences defended their scientific work at the department.
The main task of the department is to provide specialists in narcology, medical psychologists and child psychiatrists with all new methods and technologies emerging in world healthcare practice.
