Department history

Taking into account the epidemiological situation of HIV infection in the world and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as taking into account the peculiarities of HIV infection, measures taken against the spread of HIV infection should have been aimed not only at targeted preventive work, but also at organizing continuous education of medical personnel, training and advanced training of specialists.

Much attention is paid to this issue by our state, in particular, a significant place in this direction is occupied by the Presidential decree "On additional measures to improve the effectiveness of countering the spread of HIV infection in the Republic of Uzbekistan", No. 1023 of December 26, 2008. And Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to improve the organizational structure and activities of AIDS control centers” No. 1 dated January 5, 2009.

In accordance with this decree, the national plan for 2009-2011 was approved, aimed at combating the spread of HIV infection in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In one of the points of the National Plan, it was indicated to organize special courses on HIV prevention and treatment at the Tashkent Institute of Advanced Medical Training.

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, the leadership of the Tashkent Institute of Advanced Medical Training decided to organize a course on HIV infection at the Department of Epidemiology in order to improve the skills of HIV infection specialists.

Since April 1, 2009, the Academic Council of the Institute has approved this course.

A memorandum of cooperation on comprehensive training of specialists and involvement of the center's staff in the educational process was signed between the Tashkent Institute of Advanced Medical Training and the Republican AIDS Control Center.

The head of the course was appointed Doctor of Medical Sciences, associate professor K. Yuldashev.
