Department history

The Department of Epidemiology of the CRPCMR (formerly TASHIUV) was established in 1932.

The department was headed by:

From 1932 to 1950 – Professor A.D. Grekov

From 1950 to 1952 – Professor Gildin S. R.

From 1952 to 1957 – Professor A.D. Grekov

From 1958 to 1960 – Professor M. I. Badanov

From 1960 to 1977 – Associate Professor P. G. Podgornova

From 1977 to 2005 – Associate Professor R. A. Bahramova.

From 2005 to 2011-Professor Niyazmatov B. I.

From 2011 to 2017-Candidate of Medical Sciences Saidaliev S. S.

From 2017 to the present-Professor Iskandarova G. T.

Significant contribution to the development of the department was made by such specialists as: Diveeva F. Kh., Sokolova I. S., Lebedeva N. P., Burakova E. F., Yarmukhamedov M. A., Khakimov M. M. The department has trained 12 candidates of medical sciences and 6 Doctors of Medical Sciences. Currently, the department performs 2 doctoral and 5 candidate dissertations. The department's staff has published more than 800 scientific papers. Scientific direction of the department: "Study of the effectiveness of anti-epidemic measures to combat infections controlled by monoprophylaxis". Achievements and collaboration. The teaching staff of the Department of Epidemiology works closely with professors and epidemiologists of Yonsei University, South Korea (Seoul) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency of the Republic of Korea-KOICA. As a result of successful cooperation, joint Uzbek Korean training programs for general improvement and primary specialization have been developed in which joint cycles are conducted. Permanent partners of the department in joint educational activities are such international organizations as: WHO, CDC, UNICEF, KOICA, KOFIH, GIZ.
