In 1969, the “Anesthesiology and Reanimatology” course was opened at the Institute of Advanced Medical Sciences in Tashkent at the Department of Surgery - 2 under the leadership of Magdalena Aleksandrovna Romanova, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

On the basis of the course in 1970, Professor Zarzar Aza Semenovna created the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimatology

In 1987, the department organized a course in pediatric anesthesiology and resuscitation, which was headed by associate professor Khura Nuritdinovna Mukhitdinova.

In 1988, the Department was reorganized from the course of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation of Children on the basis of the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, which was headed by Associate Professor Mukhitdinova Khura Nuritdinovna.

From May 2004 to December 2020, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Elmira Abdusamatovna Satvaldieva.
Professor E.A. Satvaldieva is a teacher of the advanced training course of the European Foundation for the Education of Anesthesiologists (C.E.A.A.). Under the scientific guidance of Professor E.A. Satvaldieva, 2 dissertations for the academic degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences were prepared and successfully defended.

From January 2021 to the present, the head of the department is Khamraeva Gulchekhra Shakhobovna. Awarded a Medal dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan by Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
