Since the 2017-2018 academic year, the department of “Nurses with higher education” was organized in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 4, 2017 No. 174 “On additional measures to improve the qualifications of medical personnel and improve the system of their retraining” at the Tashkent Medical Institute with the purpose advanced training of specialists in higher nursing and midwifery. Since 2017, the department has been headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor R.K. Salikhojaeva.

The department's employees have published over 100 scientific papers. The department’s permanent partners in joint educational activities are such international organizations as: WHO, UNICEF, GIZ.
