The Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine of the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers is one of the first organized in the history of the center.

Since the creation of the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Medical Studies (1932) until 1948, training sessions on pathological anatomy were held at the department of the Tashkent Medical Institute as part of integral cycles. Lectures were given by Professor G.N. Terekhov. During this period, K.N. Dolinskaya and T.A. Sirota worked at the department.

T.A. Sirota in 1948 organized and headed (until 1950) the course of pathological anatomy of the Institute for Advanced Medical Studies in Tashkent.

In 1950, the Department of Pathological Anatomy was organized prof. R.I. Danilova, who headed the department until 1975.

 

Danilova Rimma Ivanovna

(1906 – 1985yy)

During the leadership of the department prof. R.I. Danilova underwent specialization and improvement of 546 pathologists. Through clinical residency, 3 doctors were trained - pathologists (N. I. Rasulov, V. P. Ilyinov, A. K. Kulisonov).

43 candidate and 9 doctoral dissertations were prepared. During this period, V. A. Akbarov, T. M. Mirazimov, M. U. Maksumova, V. A. Stepanov, N. Sh. Sukhonos, O. Bobohodzhaev, I. Norbaev, L. Kuraksina completed graduate school and defended their dissertations.

Since 1975 until 1976, the duties of the head of the department of pathological anatomy were performed by associate professor T. M. Mirazimov.

From 1976 to 1983, the department was headed by professor P. D. Tulyaganov, associate professor V. A. Stepanov and senior lecturer 3.F. Cherenok worked.

 

Tulyaganov Pazil Dzhuraevich

(1924 – 1998yy.)

During the period of leadership of the department by Professor P. D. Tulyaganov, more than 500 pathologists and forensic experts underwent specialization and improvement. Under the guidance of prof. P.D. Tulyaganova defended one doctoral and 14 PhD dissertations.

From 1989 to 2005, the department was headed by Professor Sh. B. Irgashev.

 

Irgashev Shukhrat Boisovich

Associate Professor V. A. Stepanov and Senior Lecturer L. A. Pak worked at the department. Educational and scientific work was carried out in close cooperation with the pathomorphology laboratory of the Research Institute of Cardiology, equipped with modern equipment and apparatus.

In previous years, postgraduate training of forensic experts was mainly carried out at institutes for advanced training of doctors in the cities of Moscow, Leningrad, Kyiv and Kharkov. With the independence of Uzbekistan, there was an urgent need to organize the training and retraining of experts in the country

In connection with the above, on the initiative of the Main Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination, by order of the Ministry of Health No. 9 of 13. 01. 1993 a course of forensic medicine was organized at the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Medical Studies, later reorganized as the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine.

The activities of the course of forensic medicine are carried out by associate professors: Z.A. Giyasov, K.A. Akbergenova and assistant M.A. Nasedkina. In 1995, K.A. Makhsumkhanov was hired as a senior laboratory assistant, in 2010 as an assistant to F.Kh. Makhmatmurodov.

In the period 2005-2007 the acting head of the department was the candidate of medical sciences L. A. Pak.

Since 2018, the department has been headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor B.A. Magrupov.

 

Magrupov Bakhodir Asadullaevich

The department pays attention to optimizing the educational process, introduced diagnostic cards developed at the department to control basic, boundary and final knowledge, and monitors learning using situational tasks and business games in general and specific sections of pathological anatomy. The department widely uses in the educational process a tabular fund, museums of micro and macro preparations, conducts laboratory classes and classes in the section hall, uses sets of color slides on selected issues of pathological anatomy/

From September 2023 - K.A. Makhsumkhanov was appointed head of the department.
