The history of the department begins in 1948, during this period the department was called "Philosophical Problems of Medicine".

        The name of the department changed several times, such scientists as I.B. Sinelnikov (1951-1953), A.M. Smirnov (1953-1954), V.F. Sorokin (1955-1969), A.I. Luneva (1969-1970), A.A. Faiziev (1971-1976) . In 1976, a course was created on the basis of the department, which was led by associate professor I.M. Khaidarov. In 2002, on the basis of this course, the Department of Healthy Lifestyle was created, which until 2006 was headed by Associate Professor O.M. Agzamova.

        During the period of reforming the healthcare system in the Republic, the need arose for the development of health-improving medicine.

        In 2006, Valueology as a science entered the register of medical sciences. In March of this year, the Department of Valeology was created at TashIUV, until September 2023, this department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sh.B. Irgashev. He is a leading scientist who determined the place and importance of health medicine in the healthcare system of the Republic.

Since September 2023, Faizieva Nozima Nurullaevna, MD, PhD in medicine, Associate Professor, has headed the department.
