Department history

For the first time in Uzbekistan, in connection with the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State Program for the Reform of the Health Care System of the Republic of Uzbekistan" No. 2107 of November 10, 1998, the Department of Specialization or Training and Retraining of General Practitioners/Family Physicians was established on the basis of the Tashkent Institute of Professional Development.

The department was established in 1998 under the name "General Practitioner Training". The first head of the department was candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Abdullo Velievich Mazgutov, and he worked from 1998 to 2000.

In order to ensure the implementation of the order No. 379 of the SSV of the UzR dated August 31, 2006 "On approval of the directions and main procedures for the further development of the system of continuous professional education of primary medical health workers, the department of training of general practitioners was established (Order No. 2b of ToshVMOI dated September 11, 2006) Candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Sh.Z. Kasimov was chosen as the head of the department and headed the department until 2014.

 

 

The following department heads:

Professor Abdukahhor Vohidovich Fazilov worked from 2000 to 2003. The task of the department was initially to train teachers and pedagogues, 180 teachers were trained in 5 years, and then retraining and training of doctors for general medical practice began in Tashkent.

 

 

Professor Zohidova Mashkura Ziyomatovna headed the department in 2004-2017. Until 2017, the department trained more than 1,000 doctors from Tashkent and the region.

 

 

In 2015, by the decision of the Scientific Council, the course "Occupational diseases" was added to the department.

In 2017, it was merged with the "UAS training" department and the "General practitioner training" department. The department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Marguba Ilhomovna Rasulova in 2015-2021.

 

 

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-6110 of November 12, 2020 "On measures to introduce completely new mechanisms to the activity of primary medical and sanitary care institutions and to further increase the efficiency of the reforms carried out in the health care system", the specialty of the general practitioner was reclassified as a family doctor was named, and science programs in medical higher education institutions were adapted to train family doctors.

Specialists who greatly contributed to the development of the department: Tsoi E. S., Sadiqkhojaeva D., Aripov T. Yu., Toshpulatova Sh., Kazakbaeva N., associate professor Ibragimova M., Sadirova M. A., Buben O., Miralieva M., Niyozova M. B., Baikulov Z.A., Tagaev M.K.

Today, the department is headed by a purposeful, willing and professional specialist DSc, Halimbetov Gulomzhan Sultanbaevich. Currently, the department is located under the city family polyclinic number 48. The department is equipped with the necessary technical equipment, as well as educational clinical rooms designed for family doctors to acquire practical skills.

 

 

The main directions of the department's activity are: improving the knowledge and skills of family doctors in the most important areas of their professional activity, conducting traveling cycles for training the adult audience in innovative pedagogical technologies for the employees of local health departments, coordinators of ambulatory polyclinic services, teachers of departments of higher educational institutions and employees of medical centers from the diploma, training in the methods of organizing and conducting training in new interactive methods in the next training cycles, etc.

Permanent employees of the department: doctor of medical sciences, head of the department G'. S. Halimbetov, doctor of medical sciences, professor M. Z. Zohidova, doctor of medical sciences, professor M. A. Hamrokulova and associate professors: candidate of medical sciences R. A. Nurmuhamedova, PhD D. A. Hasanova and PhD M. S. Masharipova, assistants: M. U. Zohidova, H.M. Jo'raeva and F. R. Kdirbaevas are working.

Research materials of the department are presented annually at national and international conferences, published in domestic and foreign scientific and practical publications. In the 2022-2023 academic year, 31 articles, including 11 in international journals, 34 theses, including 5 in international publications, as well as 12 educational, methodological manuals and other scientific products, 1 monograph, and 2 patents were published.

Assistant Zakhidova Ma'mura Umidzhanovna is conducting scientific research as a freelance researcher at the department on the topic "Clinical-epidemiological studies and methods of early prevention of functional disorders of the urinary system in pregnant women." Scientific leader Ph.D. Professor Mamasaliev N. A. It is planned to defend the dissertation in 2024 at the special board of the Andijan State Medical Institute.

 

 

Since 2010, the staff of the department has been actively participating in the publications of the magazines "General Practitioner of Uzbekistan" and "Bulletin of the Association of Physicians of Uzbekistan". The staff of the department has produced more than 60 methodological manuals in the field of family medicine, pedagogical and treatment-prophylaxis.

With the support of UzRSSV and international organizations, the Republic Conference "Results of 10-year development of the primary medical link" (2010), "Improving the quality of professional services in the primary medical link of the health care system" III Republican scientific and professional conference (2015), "Primary health care system "Improving the quality of medical services in the medical field" 4th Republican scientific-practical conferences (2017) were held. Along with the active treatment and prevention work by the department's staff, together with the management bodies of practical health care (OzR SSV, VSSB, TTB), on-site monitoring and practical assistance works are being carried out.

The department of family medicine with the course of occupational diseases has been working in cooperation with international organizations (WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF, etc.) on issues of family medicine development.
