BAKHRAMOV SAIDJALAL MAHMUDOVICH

 

Saidjalal Mahmudovich Bakhramov was born on January 22, 1938 in the village of Akkurgan, Tashkent region, in a peasant family. In 1962, he graduated from the medical faculty of the Tashkent Medical Institute.

In 1964, he entered graduate school. In 1970, S.M. Bahramov was appointed the head of the hematology clinic at the Research Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, and in 1972, at the same time, he was appointed the deputy director of the institute for scientific affairs. S. M. Bahramov worked in these positions for 14 years. During this period, the first systematic study of the problem of anemia was carried out under his leadership and personal participation. Special attention was paid to hemoglobinopathies and erythrocyte enzypathies. This scientific development made it possible to prove the presence of clinical forms of hereditary hemoglobin pathologies and erythrocyte enzyme anomalies among the population of the republic. For the first time in Uzbekistan, two new variants of the abnormal enzyme G-6-PDG erythrocytes, included in the international classification of enzymes, were identified.

In 1984, S. M. Bahramov was appointed deputy minister - former head of the fourth general department, and at the end of 1985 he was appointed the minister of health of Uzbekistan.

From 1985 to 2017, S.M. Bahramov worked as the head of the Department of Hematology and Transfusion at the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Based on the large amount of materials collected in the course of scientific expedition research, S.M. Bahramov's students successfully defended 6 doctoral theses and 12 candidate's theses, and together with them, 7 invention patents were obtained.

There are more than 400 published works written by S.M.Bahramov. In particular, there are instructions for doctors "Diseases of the blood system" (1980, 1987), "Transfusion medicine" (2013).

S.M. Bahramov is the organizer of the Association of Hematologists and Transphysiologists of Uzbekistan. On his initiative, "Anemia and Leukemia" - Republican public charity fund was established (currently this fund is named after academician S.M. Bahramov).

S.M. Bahramov was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Doctor of the Republic of Uzbekistan". He was awarded with the Order of the Badge of Honor. In 2001, Professor S. M. Bahramov was elected an honorary academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Member of the International Blood Transfusion Society (France) and the Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan (2022).

S.M. Bahramov combined medical, scientific and pedagogical activities for many decades and was able to introduce innovations in each of these fields and thus became a respected doctor, scientist, teacher and leader.
