In 1983, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic “Clinical and immunological parameters of cytochrome C in the treatment of viral hepatitis A and B.” In 1991, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Clinical and pathogenetic significance of acetylation processes and the monooxygenase enzyme system in typhoid fever and viral hepatitis.” Since 1995, he has been awarded the title of professor. He is a member of the Scientific Council for Awarding Academic Degrees Member of the Board of the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Research Institute of Virology RSSPTsMEIPZ, Member of the European Association of Hepatologists, Chairman of the Association of Hepatologists of Uzbekistan, Member of the editorial board and editorial boards of a number of domestic and foreign scientific medical journals. In 2020, he was awarded the Order “Oʻzbekistonda xizmat koʻrsatgan sogʻliqni saqlash xodimi”. He has published 5 monographs, more than 300 articles, 30 methodological guidelines, more than 50 educational programs, and has also prepared 18 candidates of medical sciences and 5 doctoral dissertations.
Under his leadership in our Republic:
1. For the first time in Uzbekistan, a Reference laboratory has been created that carries out quality control of diagnostic products produced and imported into the country.
2. The PCR method for detecting viruses (hepatitis B, C, D, HIV) was introduced, which is relevant for the Republic of Uzbekistan, which made it possible to timely and effectively diagnose and treat viral infections.
3. An additional method of treating Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever using the drug Ribaverin has been developed and introduced.
4. The etiological structure of viral diarrhea has been studied, including the epidemiology of rotavirus infection and the incidence of this infection.
5. The pathogenetic and diagnostic role of microRNAs in the development of fibrosis and primary liver cancer during chronic infection with HBV, HCV and HDV was studied.
6. For the first time in Uzbekistan, the clinical and laboratory aspects of infection with parvovirus B19 were studied.
7. The sensitivity and specificity of the PIVKA II method for HCC associated with chronic viral hepatitis was studied.
8. A pilot study was conducted jointly with the Disease Analysis Foundation (CDAF, USA) on the elimination of hepatitis in Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan Hepatitis Elimination Program (UHEP). He is the developer of clinical protocols, methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Health on the management of patients and infectious diseases.
